About the project
Welcome on the Websites of the „Houses with Spirit“ project. This project covers accommodation capacities of 3 historic houses situated in seemingly not relating and very distant locations. Mikulov, Telč and Český Krumlov. These ancient towns are located in southern parts of our country, near to the Austrian border.
The investment into the historic houses in these towns has been done with the aim to show the guests the magnificent beauty of these houses´ architecture created during many centuries.
The restoration of individual houses was approached to preserve all period style elements and the typical architectonic house character. In Telč and Český Krumlov the baroque style, in Mikulov the late classicistic style. During the house adaptation to the accommodation units, the aim was to reach extra spacious rooms – apartments that will provide our guests with comfort, family atmosphere and undisturbed stay. It is not our target to create subjects with huge accommodation capacities. The important part of our plans was to maintain the spirit and the remarkable atmosphere of each of those houses. The quaintness of the houses is additionally enhanced by the fact that they are situated in fascinating urban complexes, urban reserves the importance thereof was awarded by the placing them in the List of the worldwide cultural and natural heritage UNESCO. Towns living peacefully outside of busy centres, were not affected by the impact of modern times connected with the industry development and maintained their renaissance and baroque seal.
The winsomeness by the architecture of an extraordinary high value of each of the towns is multiplied by a marvellous nature surrounding the unique jewels. Vltava, Šumava, Vysočina, Pálavské vrchy, the Lednice-Valtice Area, that all are ountless numbers of national natural reserves and protected areas. The architects, participating in the creation of individual towns, could not find any more beautiful surroundings for their intentions in our mother country.
In the beginning of our narration, we mentioned that our historic houses are situated in seemingly not relating and very distant locations. Our main target was to get and to restore houses that have their Face, their Spirit and can serve for our intention of a romantic accommodation in houses with a rich history and unique family atmosphere. After a certain lapse of time, after having studied historical sources of individual towns, we found out with astonishment that the towns chosen have many things in common and that our enchantment by these towns was not incidental.
Assess it by yourself:
The basic identical element of the towns Telč and Český Krumlov is that both towns were built by aristocratic families coming from the most famous and powerful family line of the Czech history. From the famous Vítkovci family. The aristocratic families the Lords of
Hradec, the Lords of Krumlov and the Lords of Rožmberk endorsed the beauty of mentioned towns in a decisive way. Even in 1447 these towns were connected by the marriage of the Mikulov ruler Jan of Lichtenštejn with Perchta of Rožmberk. This sorrowful marriage made possible for the “White Lady” to act in Telč, Český Krumlov and even in Mikulov. All towns are surrounded by water elements. Český Krumlov by the river Vltava, Telč by the system of fishponds and Mikulov by the Nové Mlýny Reservoirs and the system of fishponds. All towns are quietly supervised by guardians in form of a magic mountain entangled with legends. Mikulov is lying in the shadow of the Holy Hill, Český Krumlov is supervised by the Cross Mountain and Kleť, Telč is situated in the middle of the Javořice kingdom.
The architecture of all towns was affected by Italian artists. It is no coincidence that we can feel the atmosphere of Italian towns in the air when walking through the town. There is a reason to call Telč Moravian Venezia, there is a reason to mention the Mikulov region as the most northern headland of southern territories where the Sun found prodigally generous delight.
Welcome and learn to know towns with southern aroma. Enjoy the hospitality and unique atmosphere of our Houses with Spirit…
Yours faithfully,
